Tamanu oil is produced on Ikema Island, a small remote island located north of Miyako Island in Okinawa.
Tamanu oil is a vegetable oil made by carefully squeezing the seeds of the Calophylla japonica (called "Yarabu" in Miyako). It has been used as a traditional treatment for skin diseases in the South Pacific islands of Hawaii and Tahiti. Freshly pressed oil is golden in color and has a rich, nutty scent. It penetrates the stratum corneum quickly, so it doesn't feel sticky, and has been attracting a lot of attention in recent years due to its excellent moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.
Naure's commitment: All processes from harvesting the raw seeds to processing and pressing into oil are carried out on Ikema Island.
・We check each and every seed by hand and only use carefully selected ingredients.
- No heat is added during the manufacturing process and the oil is extracted using a cold press method, so beneficial ingredients such as vitamins and phytochemicals are not destroyed.
- In order to always deliver fresh oil, we do not mass-produce it but squeeze it out in small quantities.
- We have conducted sensitive skin patch tests, so it can be used safely by people with sensitive skin and babies.
