Yamanju Tea Garden
Yamaju Tea Farm was started by three classmates from Yakushima. The name was created by combining the first letters of each of their names.
Yamaju Tea Farm has practiced pesticide-free, organic cultivation since it first opened, and in 2001 the entire tea farm, including the tea factory, received JAS organic certification.
Yakusugi trees have been rooted in the earth of Yakushima for thousands, even hundreds of years, protecting its precious ecosystem.
The roots collect rain, creating lush rivers that flow into the sea. The tea plants, fed by the water from the heavens, grow strong using natural fertilizers such as weeds and oil cake as nutrients.
One of the things we are particular about is that we don't till the soil, but instead use the power of microorganisms to create soft soil.
Tea grown amid the natural bounty of Yakushima is characterized by its refreshing yet rich flavor.
It's so easy has selected three types of tea: green tea, roasted green tea, and black tea. They have tea leaves and tea bags. Green tea and roasted green tea are also available in powder form, so choose the one that suits your lifestyle.
If you prefer a teapot, use loose tea leaves, but if you prefer a quick cold brew, use tea bags.
The additive-free and sugar-free powder type is made by simply crushing whole tea leaves. Just pour in cold water and shake to make delicious cold tea, so it's recommended to carry it around as a nutritional charge during the day. When there are consecutive sunny days with varying temperatures, the morning mist is beautiful.
The packaging features an illustration of the scenery seen from the tea fields and the Ochikawa River basin flowing next to it.
They also pay special attention to the packaging and tea bags! The tea bag material is biodegradable, and the outer bag is made of Shield Plus, a paper material with barrier properties.
